Brock Roberts is a director and lyric tenor; born and raised in Ohio, USA. He began his studies at Wright State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music. While studying, he started his professional singing career with Dayton Opera appearing in the chorus for several seasons. Shortly after finishing his degree, he moved to Germany where he worked regularly as a soloist in both Munich and Hamburg appearing in both concerts and recitals before coming to the UK where he received his Masters of Music with Commendation from Birmingham Conservatoire. He has sung with Grange Park Opera as a cover and chorus member. As well we numerous roles with smaller companies throughout the UK. Brock's directing credits include Carmen for Edinburgh Studio Opera and co-directing a Baroque double bill at Birmingham Conservatoire working with Michael Barry on John Blow's Venus and Adonis and Charpentier's Actéon. In 2016, he directed a semi-staged concert performance of Carmen at the Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod as well as the youth opera production of Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld at the Teatru Manoel, Malta. 2017 sees Brock returning to Llangollen to assist, director Amy Lane, on the festival's semi-staged production of Tosca with Kristine Opolais, Kristian Benedikt and Sir Bryn Terfel and directing To Himself, Alone at the Tête à Tête Festival.
